Check out this great video
My name is Marlene Stahl and I am introducing here some of the highlights of my father's life as I feel Edward Schuyler Stahl who served in World War 2 as a pilot and graduated on D Day from West Point Military Academy had a meaningful life and represents important parts of U.S. and world history. Of note, I have included a professional YouTube Video of a talk which my father gave at a military base museum in 2013 on the various airplanes which he flew throughout his career as an air force officer. I also have found family video footage of his graduation from West Point Military Academy on D Day in 1944. I hope that friends and family will collaborate with me in adding footage to this project to honor a great man whom I am proud to call my Dad.
In this section I present some of the video footage from the graduation ceremony that took place at West Point Military Academy on D Day in 1944. My father, Ed Stahl, was part of the graduating class and my mother was also in attendance.
My Dad gave this West Point Military Academy ring to my mother as an Engagement Ring on D Day, 6 June 1944. Dwight D. Eisenhower's son was in the graduating class along with my father, Ed Stahl. Everyone expected General Dwight D. Eisenhower to deliver the commencement speech but that did not happen because the General was occupied with the implementation of the D Day activities, which at that time was a secret operation.
Ed Stahl always said, "I got it all on D Day". That's because on this day (6 June 1944), he got his wings, his diploma, and his "girl" all on the same day. It was also on this day that the Allied Forces began their triumph over tyranny. Pictured to the right is my father, Ed Stahl with his fiancé, Dolores -- who became my mother.
